Rhody Ramble Halloween Events - From Sweet to Scary!

The Haunts of Little Rest Hill
Old Washington County Jail, Kingstown 
October 10-31: Thursdays & Fridays at 8:30 PM, Saturdays at 7:30 PM & 9:30 PM
Tickets: $15 Adults, $10 Children 12 and under. 
Peek into the jail’s cell block after dark! Enjoy a historically-based evening tour of the village with guides from the Pettaquamscutt Historical Society, including tales from local residents of unexplained phenomenon in town! Hear the darker side of history on this 75 minute walking tour which covers a one-mile area of town. Tours begin at the pillory in the jail yard, and circle through Little Rest and two burial grounds, ending inside the unlit, stone cells where notorious Washington County criminals were once imprisoned. For families with young children, 7:30 tours are recommended. Participants should dress for outdoors and wear comfortable walking shoes. Tours are only cancelled in case of severe weather. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Fortress of Nightmares

Admission: $10 per per person
Explore the largest, most complex Fort in America via this one hour, two faceted FEAR experience! First, you'll explore the Officers Quarters where you'll meet our twilight inhabitants face to face. Once you've managed to navigate your way out of the Officers Quarters, you'll face a dark and terrifying walk across the 6.5 acre Parade Field and down into the depths of the Fortress to experience Tunnels of Terror. 
Not recommended for children under 12. If you want to leave because you are too scared, then we've done our job. (No refunds given.)

William Shakespeare's Macbeth
Roger Williams National Memorial

Admission: FREE!
Bob Colonna and the Rhode Island Shakespeare Theater present William Shakespeare's Macbeth in the park at the Roger Williams National Memorial. Macbeth is considered one of Shakespeare's darkest and most powerful tragedies. Of course, TRIST will add its usual flair to this production, using the outdoor space at the Memorial to set the stage for this production. Filled with witches, ghosts and murder, Macbeth is the perfect fall/Halloween evenings’ entertainment. Bring a blanket, a chair, a picnic basket and enjoy the evening. Recommended for children 10 or older. 

Little Pumpkin’s Party

Join us for our annual Halloween party for our littlest pumpkins! There will be a musical performance and activities with our favorite music maker Lindsay Meehan, a craft activity and refreshments! Ages 2- 6 (younger siblings welcome). Learn more about Lindsay and Mary Hall’s Music for Children classes. Call Lindsay to register at 421-6970.

Pumpkin Decorating Workshop
Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum

Admission: $15 per pumpkin ($5 Adult participation fee)
These owls are a hoot! In this playful, seasonal class we will dress white heritage pumpkins with assorted seeds and nuts to create noses and eyes, then add feathers or other plant material for the ears. Mini-pumpkins make adorable baby owls. All materials are included, and there’s no need to worry about clean-up! Cider and donuts will be served. Parents are welcome to stay and help their kids ($5 fee applies). Recommended for ages 5 or older.

Creepy, Crawly Family Fun Weekend
Museum of Natural History and Planetarium, Providence

Free Museum and Planetarium admission for costumed visitors!
Spooky stories, haunted museum vault tours (additional admission applies), creature features, mystery guests and a trick-or-treat bag full of Halloween fun! Discover the creepy and crawly things that make Halloween special with spooky activities and Museum creature features. Visitors receive a complimentary treat bag and treats in exhibit halls.
